Social Security Disability Program

The Social Security Disability (SSD) program is the major source of income support for disabled people and provides social security coverage to most US workforce. If you were working, but lost your job because of your illness or injury, you may qualify to get social security disability benefits.

You can contact the Social Security Administration (SSA) to find out if you've eligible for social security disability. But you should understand that no matter how seriously disabiling a condition or injury is, it will not make you eligible for disability benefits unless it has lasted, or is expected to last, one year. So if you condition is expected to improve within twelve months, then you'll not be eligible for Social Security disability.

Applying to the Social Security Administration for disability can be a frustating and tedious task. Fortunately there are many advocates that can help you to get Social Security disability benefits.
