Vitamin supplements during pregnancy

Supplements are often used as insurance against an inadequate diet. If you are pregnant, you still can consume daily vitamin for your health. Some health care providers still recommend a daily vitamin for all pregnant women.

During pregnancy you need an extra supply of certain vitamins and minerals, particularly calcium, folic acid and iron. Although those with a healthy diet should get enough of this vitamin, pregnant women who fear their eating habits are inconsistent may want to take vitamint supplement.

Many pregnant women are routinely given a multivitamin and mineral supplement during pregnancy as a precautionary measure. But if your vitamins make you nauseous, skipping them until you feel better is perfectly for the baby.
